Liesl Jauk
Liesl
has an extensive educational and professional background in
fine arts, design and communications. She has completed an
Associate of Fine Arts (Kwantlen College; drawing; painting;
printmaking), a Bachelor of Arts in Art History (UBC) and
a Masters degree in the Social History of Art (University
of Leeds, UK).
Just prior to founding Rebus Creative with
partner Bryan Pike, Liesl worked for four years as Communications
Director for the Pacific Cinémathèque, where
she oversaw all the publicity and graphic design needs of
the company.
In an earlier life as a visual artist working
in mixed media, she was a founding member of Artery, a collective
of artists who had group exhibits at the Surrey Arts Centre
and various café galleries in Vancouver.
Between and shortly after her art history
degrees, Liesl was a key staffer at Imagination Market, coordinating
their public creative art-making workshops and acting as artistic
director.
Since October 2008, Liesl has been working
at the City of Richmond as their Manager of Community Cultural
Development. But she’s still here in spirit at Rebus
Creative, where she is responsible for much of the company’s
graphic design work and advises on many logistical aspects
of event production and programming of events.
She is a past board member of the Public
Dreams Society and the Holy Body Tattoo and is currently on
the boards of the Mortal Coil Performance Society and Eponymous
Productions. |
